Mr. Gengos has served as our Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since July 2026. Prior to joining Immuneering, Mr. Gengos served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Development at Terns Pharmaceuticals from February 2025 to May 2026, which Merck & Co., Inc. acquired for $6.7 billion. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer of Athira Pharma, Inc. (now LeonaBio, Inc.) from May 2023 to October 2024 and Chief Business Officer of Cyteir Therapeutics, Inc. from February 2020 to February 2023, where he led the finance organization that successfully completed the company’s initial public offering. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Executive Officer of ImmunoCellular Therapeutics, Ltd. from December 2012 to December 2016, and Neuraltus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from February 2010 to August 2012, providing strategic and financial leadership across oncology and neurodegenerative disease programs. In addition, Mr. Gengos was Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Amgen Inc. from October 2002 to February 2010, where he helped shape the company’s long-term strategic priorities and business development initiatives. He began his career at Morgan Stanley in 1986 and later joined McKinsey & Company from September 1991 to June 1998, advancing from Associate to Senior Engagement Manager.
Mr. Gengos holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
